The power of advertising

Speaking task: Choose either 1 or 2


1.  Make an advertising campaign.
  • Choose a product and present it. Explain why it is so good that we must buy it.
  • Identify the advertising strategy/technique.
  • Identify the target audience and how the ad tries to appeal to that particular group.
  • Don't forget to create a slogan for the product/service that  you are advertising. (you can also choose a jingle, a logo, a brand, etc...)
2. Choose an ad you like. It can be a TV or radio commercial, an ad in a newspaper, magazine or a billboard.
  • Show the ad you are going to talk about (picture, film, tape, transparency...) and describe it.
  • Refer to the product advertised
  • Identify the advertising strategy/technique.
  • Identify the target audience and how the ad tries to appeal to that particular group
  • Reasons why you like this ad.
